New Update!!

So We only have about 10 days until we must leave the "Lake House" and move to the forest. While I will really miss the lake view, the sound of the loons in the morning and kayaking! it will be great to have our own place, pay no rent and have a final home for my "Stuff". From the following pictures you can see that there is NO WAY we will be finished with the apartments, but no worries, we have a fifth wheel, maybe a sm. cabin, and the shop will be enclosed, insulated and rooms framed (complete with bathroom, laundry and cooking facilities).

Water!!! At last. The well diggers finally came back to finish their job.
We hit water at about 85 feet, 30-45 gal. a min. I'm told that is really good.

The initial framing is nearly finished. This is the front view, with 2 reg. garage stalls with storage/work rooms behind them, and the "drive thru high bay" which will have a storage room above it. The apartments are on the left end of the shop.

Keith and Kelly doing first stage pluming work. We also planed a washer/dryer for the shop, and a full bathroom w/ shower!! Nice for oily work clothes, stinky fish clothes, towels etc.

First family photo of  Melany and Dallas in the "front door" of their apartment.

End view of the shop. The storage room above the high bay will be over 6 ft high in the center, tall enough to walk around in.

Kevin and Sam way up in the rafters

Keith doing dirt work on the well, getting it ready for the well diggers to place the pump and hook everything up. Keith especially loved this piece of equipment!! As did Stewie.

Inside the small garage bays,, we have walls!

2 Views of the apt. on the 2nd floor. Most of the framing is done, working on details now.

Back or south side of the shop. There will be a drive thru bay, from the main entrance to the other side of the property. No having to back a boat or trailer out here!
The door in the middle is the "Meat Processing Room" one of my favorite rooms in the entire shop! I've been waiting for this one for several years now.

Building progress-- May 12, 2011

The weather has been amazingly good this spring for the construction of the shop. It has been mostly in the 50s- to lower 60s, not too much wind and lots of glorious sunshine! Doesn't get much better than that at breakup in Alaska!!
The tresses have all been built, and are up over the apt. area of the shop. The floorboard is down on the 2nd floor.

 It's coming together.
The floor creates a nice workspace for building tresses. We have a lot of space there!
The "view from the top" is great according to Dallas and Kevin. I think we should put a deck up there, personally. A hot tub would be grand, too.
Kevin, Sam, Keith and Rod..They look like this is way too much fun to call work!?
 Kelly really hard at work.
 The "Minds" at work......
These guys always "smile pretty" for me ..
Kevin loves me to take pictures of him...

You Did It Stewie!!!

Stewie walking up to accept his diploma. He graduated from Kenai Peninsula College,
a satellite college of UAA (University of Alaska)
He got it!! There were only 3 students who received both Process Technology and
Instrumentation degrees. Way to Go Stewie.
 Me and my "Baby" Brother
We've had a great time having him in Alaska with us the last couple of years. We hope he'll be around up here for years to come.
Dallas and Rod with their "twiner" flat-caps.
Even the "boys" got to quit early and go to Stewies Grad, and out to dinner.
It was a nice change. Don , Aud and kids came to grad, but opted to go home instead of dinner, since it was a school nite.

We went out to Dinner after Graduation. Out of everything on the menu, he only wanted Hawaiian pizza
